IDEO is an international design firm that designs services,
products, digital experiences and much more. ABC hotline did an episode over
the design team from IDEO and showed how they go about the design process. It
showed how the team went about designing a new shopping cart. The team members
would split up into even smaller groups and create a prototype of how they
think shopping carts should be designed. The design team then took the best
aspects from each prototype and created an actual shopping cart. After they had
the actual cart made, they took it to a local grocery store to interview people
in order to get feedback. They take the criticisms and create a final cart in
hopes that someone will buy them.
