Rio Theatre: I have a love for films and experiencing them
has changed a lot. I think old theatres stay true to the experience of watching
a film because that’s how it all started. Which is why I chose this building. I
would execute it by constructing the shape of the neon sign (it would come off
and out of the wall) and put the picture collage onto it to make a 3D version.
People Aging: Originally I wanted to compare different ages
from one another in terms of face detail. I was thinking about takings bits and
pieces of different faces and making a larger one with 3 or 4 different age
groups. I would display these within frames that would hang on the wall. For
some reason, I strayed from this idea and was thinking about how certain people
looking now compared to the past.
Getting Ready: When you think about it, it’s ridiculous how
long it takes most girls to get ready, myself included, and the extremes we go
to be “beautiful”. I wanted to include the different steps of my process in the
morning to express both the multiple steps and the before and after. I also
thought about timing how long it takes me to get ready and somehow including it
within the collage.
Union Station: Union Station is a beautiful building and I
wanted to express how it was then and how it is now. In means of executing it I
wanted to get a large floor plan of the station and paste on top of it images
of how it came to life. My other idea was to create a collage of old and new
photos.
